Slip testing for wet rooms & washrooms

Constant water and bare feet make wet rooms the hardest test of all.

Why it’s a high-risk area

Showers, changing rooms, pool surrounds and care-home wet rooms are wet by design and often used barefoot, which calls for the barefoot test method. In care settings the CQC expects this risk to be actively managed.

How we test it

We test with the barefoot slider as well as the standard one where appropriate, in the wet condition the room actually faces.

If it falls short

Anti-slip treatments, the right surface specification and a sound cleaning regime; we re-test to prove it now performs.
